Full plumbing scopes for new homes, extensions and builds.

Water, drainage and ducted services run through the ceiling joists of a new build

What we cover

New-build plumbing from underground services to final fit-off.

  • Underground drainage and water lines
  • Gas rough-ins and stack work
  • Fixture installation and final fit-offs

Staged delivery

How new build plumbing is delivered in stages

Plumbing on a new home is not one visit. It is a sequence tied to the builder’s programme, and each stage has to be finished and inspected before the next trade can start.

  1. 01

    Before the slab is poured

Underground sewer and stormwater drainage is set out and laid to the correct falls, then inspected. Get this wrong and it is under concrete — so it is measured against the plans, not eyeballed.

  2. 02

    During frame construction

Water lines, gas lines and internal drainage are rough-in through the frame before plaster. Pipe runs are positioned to suit the final fixture layout and pressure-tested while the walls are still open.

  3. 03

    After interior finishes

Fit-off. Tapware, toilets, sinks, showers and appliances are connected once tiling and cabinetry are complete, and every connection is checked under pressure.

  4. 04

    Prior to handover

Final testing, commissioning and compliance documentation, so the plumbing is signed off and the paperwork is ready for the handover pack.

  • Underground drainage

Sewer and stormwater set out to plan, laid to fall, and inspected before the slab goes down.

  • Rough-ins

Water, gas and waste through the frame, positioned for the final fixture layout and pressure-tested.

  • Fit-offs

Tapware, toilets, basins, showers and appliance connections once the finishes are in.

  • Gas installation

Gas lines and appliance connections by licensed gas fitters, tested and certified.

  • Compliance certificates

Documentation issued for the work, ready for handover and for your building surveyor.

  • Builder coordination

Scheduling that fits around the frame, lock-up and fit-out trades rather than holding them up.

Technical planning

Technical planning for modern home layouts

Open-plan layouts, second bathrooms and outdoor kitchens all change what the plumbing has to do. These are the decisions worth making on paper rather than on site:

  • Pipe sizing so pressure holds when two showers and the kitchen run at once
  • Gas load across cooktop, hot water and heating before the meter is specified
  • Stormwater discharge points and legal point of discharge
  • Sewer connection position relative to the existing main
  • Access for future maintenance, so a repair does not mean cutting open a finished wall

Compliance

Compliance, standards and long-term reliability

All work is carried out by VBA-licensed plumbers to the Australian Standards that apply to plumbing and drainage in Victoria. Drainage is inspected before it is covered, gas is tested before it is used, and the water service is pressure-tested before the walls close up.

Compliance is not just the certificate at the end. Falls, pipe sizing and materials are what decide whether a drain still runs properly in ten years — so they are set correctly the first time rather than corrected later.

Why Ozra

The plumber that shows up, fixes it right, and charges what they quoted

Most complaints about plumbers are not really about plumbing. They are about not knowing when someone will turn up, what the bill will be, or whether the problem is actually fixed or just quiet for a fortnight. These are the eight things we hold ourselves to on every job, emergency or planned.

  • True 24/7 emergency cover

Plumbing emergencies don’t wait for business hours. Nights, weekends, and public holidays included.

  • VBA-licensed on every job

Every repair and installation is performed by a VBA-licensed professional to Australian safety standards.

  • Fixed, upfront pricing

A fixed-price estimate before we start. No hourly surprises and no hidden call-out fees.

  • 60–90 minute response target

For urgent emergencies like burst pipes or gas leaks, we aim to be on-site within 60 to 90 minutes.

  • Diagnose first, then fix

Acoustic, thermal, and CCTV diagnostics find the actual fault before anything is cut open or replaced.

  • Workmanship guarantee

Every repair is backed by our workmanship guarantee and meets Australian safety standards.

  • Explained in plain terms

We diagnose the issue and explain the practical options in language that isn’t trade jargon.

  • Left the way we found it

The work is completed properly and the space is left in order before we hand it back.

Service coverage for your project

We are based in Hallam and work across Melbourne’s south-east. Being genuinely local is what makes a 60 to 90 minute emergency target realistic rather than a marketing line — we know the roads, the age of the housing stock, and the drainage faults that keep recurring in these suburbs.
